How we are different

We are different from other medical practices. We endeavor to live by our mission statement and core values – to base our practice on caring for patients and treating them with the utmost respect. We care about how to pronounce your name and make sure you feel comfortable and are always well-informed. We are committed to the highest level of quality in our state-of-the-art facility, where we employ electronic medical records, digital photography, and video monitoring to take the best care of our patients. We are very selective in who we hire to take care of you. We pride ourselves on having a staff that is more educated and expertly trained than other similar facilities. We achieve this by having one-on-one, hands-on instruction, internal training lectures, and ongoing on-the-job education. We have old-fashioned values of customer service and patient satisfaction, and will work hard to earn your confidence in us.

TBI Logo Our Physician’s TrainingDr. Bowman is fellowship trained to perform Mohs Surgery. A Mohs surgery fellowship is a training program where a physician dedicates one to two years performing several hundred Mohs surgery procedures under a program director (Mohs surgeon) from the Mohs College. Many physi-cians that offer Mohs surgery here in Florida have instead attended a weekend training program through another organization. Click here to see if a physician is fellowship-trained. Collaboration With Other PhysiciansWe are happy to work with refer-ring dermatologists, if you have one. We also work with plastic surgeons, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, and other specialists as needed in a multidis-ciplinary approach to skin cancer. Our FacilityYou can use our complimentary wireless Wi-Fi, read, or simply relax in front of our 2000-gallon salt water aquarium system and enjoy the calm, peaceful atmosphere during your time at our office. With the combination of state of the art medical equipment, interactive patient education and comfortable treatment areas, you will feel at ease during all aspects of your visit with us.All of our sterile surgeries are performed in dedicated operating rooms that are accredited by The Joint Commission. The Joint Commission is an organization that is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performace standards. Joint Commission accreditation is not required, but we chose to pursue accreditation to help ensure our patients always experience the safest and highest quality healthcare in our facility. HiringWe read hundreds of resumes, call numerous appli-cants, and interview lots, and lots . . . and lots - of people. But in the end, we hire only a few. We devote a lot of time and effort to make sure we find the best people to care for you. Every person we hire completes an extensive interview process including written tests, practical tests, and several face-to-face interviews. Our laboratory staff upholds the same high standards and rigorous interview process. We hire licensed histotech-nologists who are trained specifically in the processing of tissue. Our Staff TrainingWe have developed an in-depth training program to ensure every staff member can competently and conf-dently take care of you. This takes several months for each new hire, and involves lots of one-on-one training. Dr. Bowman enjoyes teaching, and thoroughly trains each employee you will see in our practice. As a CPR instructor, Dr. Bowman certifies staff mem-bers in CPR. To teach staff how to painlessly inject local anesthesia, they inject each other (and Dr. Bowman) until they are proficient and can work with patients. With our staff’s high level of customer service, advanced knowledge and caring approach, you should notice a difference from other medical practices. Our Patient EducationThe more you understand about your skin cancer, the better you will do. That is why we spend so much time during visits discussing the details of your cancer, treatment, and postoperative care. During surgery, Dr. Bowman takes pictures of your cancer through the microscope to show you specif-ics of your case. Our Dedication to Patient SatisfactionOur greatest concern has always been the satisfaction and experience of each individual patient. Instead of being directed to an automated menu when you call, you will talk to a real, live person in our office, ready to assist you with your needs. We want you to be confident about your care with us, and value your feedback!! Our Commitment to QualityWe spend the extra money, the extra time, and the extra energy that is needed to really make a difference. Not just on the obvious things that everyone will notice out-side, but on the “inside” stuff that no one would ever know about - the com-plexity of our hiring process, investment in our staff training, the quality of our slides, the cleanliness of our storerooms, the choos-ing of one applicant over another. We are very detail-oriented - we take pictures and measure-ments of every biopsy site, map and orient tissue with precision, and meticulously scan our records for accuracy. We have created several complex systems to track follow-up of aggressive cancers, and fail safes to protect our patients throughout their care with us.
